With over 15 years experience and thousands of gigs worth of stage time Crellin is a highly regarded award winning performer who has been a professional comic for his entire adult life.
He performed his first gig was at 18 and by 19 he was getting pro work. As well as his extensive work as a stand up he has written comedy sketches for radio, television and the stage, is a published comedy author (Way Of The Jaffa) and also an experienced professional T.V, Film, and stage actor and spending improviser two years as part of 2 professional improv troupes (lose cannons, xprov).
He has had over 16 televised performances including 7 series of pulp comedy, 4 Billy T James award showcases and 6 comedy galas he has gigged in 10 countries and toured 8 solo shows including appearances at 10 different international comedy festivals in N.Z , Australia, Canada and the U.K. He has had two highly successful 50 date tours of the Canadian fringe festival circuit during which he showcased at the just for laughs festival in Montreal with Flight Of The Concords and was selected as a best of the fringe act at the Vancouver comedy festival two years in a row (04,05) along with the Pajama Men and the Graphenberg Allstarshe has worked with many top international names including Alan Davies, Simon Pegg, Andy Parsons, Rich Hall, Tom Stade Glen Wool, Bill Baily, Eddie Izzard, Gregg proops, Ross Noble, Daniel Kitson, Tommy Ternain, Dahny Boy, Mark Watson , Doug Stanhope and many more. He is a support act in clubs across the u.k headlining in Ireland at prestigious gigs such at the Empire and Queens University and in Scotland at the Stand in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
He has worked for most major bookers including chains such asJjounglers and Highlights as well as alternative clubs such as The Bearcat and the Banana Cabaret. He has played the university circuit for Off The Curb including 2 man bills with Jon Bishop, Jim Jefferies. His corporate work includes gigs for clients such as Telecom (N.Z) Vodaphone (N.Z) and Sun City casino in South Africa. Crellin is also very experienced instructor of stand up. He taught for 5 years at the national youth drama school in the Hawks bay (N.Z) and also toured high schools across n.z giving lunchtime performances and afternoon workshops several of his students have gone on to become professional comics and comedic actors.
His style of teaching is very personal, engaging imersive and focuses on practical application of individual skills as well as directly focusing the group on each others work to assist in expanding, evolving and refining the material each student comes up with.
